Nikki & Pete

What can I say about this beautiful Suffolk wedding party. To say things where unconventional would be a big understatement!

Nikki & Pete got married mid week, in a small and intimate wedding ceremony in London… They wanted only their nearest and dearest to attend this most important and private moment.
This left them with the freedom to throw the summer party you are about to witness, without interruption or the stress of actually getting married. Talk about throwing me off my game!

This was a totally new structure for me… in fact, it’s better described as having no particular structure. My time is usually sectioned up and focused on (no pun intended) morning prep, pre ceremony, ceremony, welcome drinks etc etc… But this day was refreshingly different.

As the two where already married… they needn’t avoid each other on the day… so the morning was spent setting up the venue together in the sun. This consisted mainly of unloading and storing the biggest selection of spirits I have ever seen. So much so, that when I left, much much later that evening… Pete insisted I take a full bottle of Vodka home with me. You’d have needed ten rugby squads to get through the amour of booze at this party!

The day went off without a hitch… people from all over the world attended this fun filled day. Cultures mixed and friends and family of the couple met and became one big unit for the day.

I don’t think anyone saw what Nikki & Pete had planned for after dinner entertainment coming… and even though I was told about it prior, it still blew me away. Zulu drummers took center stage during the last hour or so of sun, in what can only be described as
Top this off with literally perfect weather, perfect surroundings and perfect vibes… and you have a  day worth remembering.

Yet again, Wood Farm Barn still managed to provide a unique and individual backdrop for my 6th wedding there. Each and every time I’ve been, the day has been different. DIY weddings really are my thang!
